About The Event

Dimension Zero is a sci-fi puppet-filled musical theater spectacle. This absurdist adventure story challenges the status quo / powers that be as our planet falls apart. Drawing inspiration from iconic works of science fiction like Metropolis and Flash Gordon, and classic off-beat musicals like Little Shop of Horrors, and Rocky Horror Picture Show, Dimension Zero features a live rock band that will guide the audience on an epic adventure that spans the vastness of New York City and the human experience. It is a grand love letter to our city, an ode to classic sci-fi, rock-n-roll, and a tribute to badass space-adventuring women battling against the madness of unbridled capitalism and giant space monsters everywhere.

About The Organizer

Boxcutter Collective is a Brooklyn based political puppet troupe whose members met while working at the Bread and Puppet Theater and bonded over their shared passion for waving things around and pretending that the things are talking. This is called “puppetry,” and it is a highly respected artform in every culture except this one. Their work addresses current political movements drawing inspiration from anti-fracking activists, efforts to unionize workers, anti-war demonstrations, decolonization thinkers, abolitionist strategists, and others to make puppet shows with the goal of inciting the revolutionary paradigm-shift that we all know our world needs. They invite you to join them in their open conspiracy to underthrow the rotten Empire and take down Capitalism one cardboard spectacle at a time. They are currently working on their first feature length film, “How to Deal with Tantrums” coming to a screen near you in 2026. Dimension Zero was made possible with generous support from The Jim Henson Foundation and The New York State Council on the Arts.
